7. Remove the bearing from the lower portion of the
differential assembly. Inspect the bearing for
smoothness and wear.
8. Remove the shim (s) from the differential assembly.
Be sure to keep the shims together for reassembly.
9. Inspect each differential bearing and race for signs of
wear or damage. If bearing replacement is required,
use standard bearing puller tools to remove the
bearing races.
10. Remove seals from the gearcase housing and cover.
11. Remove the pinion shaft seal using a seal puller or
other suitable method.
