6.2.4 Example: Commissioning of Frequency Converter with Potentiometer
The factory default output frequency setting of Fv is "Set by operating panel
potentiometer".
Sequence Operation Description
1
Rotate the potentiometer counterclockwise (leftwards) to
the greatest extent.
The initial frequency value is 0.00
2 Press <Run> key Enter the command for running, with 0.00 displayed

Rotate the potentiometer clockwise (rightwards) slowly
and the displayed value starts to change, until 5.00 is
displayed
The motor starts to run

Observe:
● if the motor runs in the correct direction
● if the motor runs smoothly
● if there is any abnormal noise or problem
Observe the running: If any abnormality occurs,
stop the motor immediately by shutting off the pow‐
er. Restart commissioning only after the fault cau‐
ses have been removed.
5 Rotate the potentiometer clockwise (rightwards) The motor accelerates
6 Rotate the potentiometer counterclockwise (leftwards) The motor decelerates
7 Press <Stop> key Enter the command for stopping. The motor stops.

The factory default of the frequency control commands is "Set
control commands by operating panel".
6.3 Restore Parameters to Factory Defaults
If the frequency converter fails to run the motor due to incorrect parameter
settings, a simple solution is to initialize the parameters to factory defaults.
Set [b0.02] = 1 will start initialization to restore factory defaults.
Please be sure that the parameter settings after factory defaults restore
match with the motor and the field application. Adjust the parameter settings
after factory defaults restore if necessary.
