5 .8 .1 STO
STO uses interface P1 on all CDHD 400/ 480 VAC m odels.
CDHD-24 and CDHD-30, 400/480 VAC models, also have a second STO
int erface, P3 .
Safe torque off (STO) is a safety function that prevents the drive from delivering
power to the m otor, which can generate torque.
For com plet e det ails, refer t o the CDHD Functional Safety Reference Guide.
W ar ning:
Do not use the STO function until th is functionality ha s been approved.
The STO input is functional but not yet independently certified for the CDHD
400/ 480 VAC m odels.
W ar ning:
Drives with a suspended load must have an additional mechanical safety block
(such as a m ot or-holding brake). The drive cannot hold the load when STO is
active. Serious injury could result if the load is not properly safeguarded.
STO Enable and STO Return must be connected to enable CDHD operation. The
STO Enable signal voltage must be 24 VDC.
N ote: If the application does not require STO control, jum per pin 4 to pin 1,
and pin 3 to pin 2, to bypass the STO.
