MPHASE
The resolver/ encoder phase relative to the standard
com mutation table. To reverse the direction of rotation, 180
degrees is added to t he value of MPHASE.
MFBDIR
Defines several direction and polarity settings. MFBDIR
values are set by the MOTORSETUP procedure.
Ca u t ion !
The values of DIR and MPHASE must be changed at the sam e tim e, before the
drive is enabled, otherwise a comm utation fault (m otor runaway) m ay occur.
7 .9 New Mot or W izard
N ote: If the drive detects an electronic motor nam eplate, the New Motor
wizard is not available when operating Online.
I f you are using a m ot or whose param eters are not available in the default set s
of m otor libraries in ServoStudio, you can use t he New Motor wizard t o define
your m ot or. Once defined, the new motor is added to the set of User Motors in
the motor library.
The wizard can be activat ed eit her from the Motor screen, or during t he Mot or
Selection step in the Motor Setup wizard.
Click on N e w Mot or to activate the wizard.
N ote: It is recom mended that you activat e the N ew Mot or wizard from the
Motor screen, because param eters cannot be saved t o the m otor library
when the wizard is activated from Motor Setup.
A series of dialog boxes prompts you to provide m otor param eters, which you
should be able to extract from the m otor datasheet.
The New Motor wizard allows you to select units and enter values according to
the information in your motor’s datasheet. I n addition, the wizard includes a unit
conversion function. Once you have entered all data in the wizard, ServoStudio
converts the units int o the equivalent values used by the drive. These converted
values are m aint ained in the mot or library and in the drive.
