6 .1 3 .1 H om e at I nde x w it h Mot or Resolve r
Homing on index mark can be used with resolver motor feedback.
Hom ing m et hods: 1-14, 33, 34, -8, -12, -33, -34, -40, -44, -65, -66, -97, -98).
The location of the resolver index m ark is where the mot or mechanical angle
(MECHANGLE) is 0.
To achieve greater accuracy of the homing procedure (i.e., m inim um PFB count s
from MECHANGLE 0), reduce the value of HOMESPEED2.
6 .1 3 .2 H om e at I nde x w it h Single/ M ult i- Turn Encoders
Hom ing on the index m ark can also be used with absolut e m ult i-turn and
absolute single-turn feedback devices. The location of the index mark for the
purpose of homing is the zero position of the single-turn data.
Hom ing m et hods: 33, -9, -10, -13, - 14, -34, -65, -66, -97, -98
In these m ethods, HOMESPEED1 is used until an index, limit switch, or hard stop
is detected.
I f a limit switch or hard st op is encountered before the index is reached,
movem ent is reversed at HOMESPEED2 until the index is detected.
However, if the index is reached first, at HOMESPEED1, the accuracy of the
hom e location m ay be inadequat e.
To ensure good hom ing accuracy for these m ethods, it is recom mended to use a
lower value of HOMESPEED1.
6 .1 3 .3 H om e at Posit ive Edge of Hom e Sw it ch
Hom ing m ethods: 24, 28
In some instances, the positive edge is reached at HOMESPEED1, which m ay be
too fast, resulting in a less accurate hom e location.
To improve the homing accuracy for m et hods 24 and 28, it is recom m ended to
instead use homing methods - 2 4 and -2 8 . These m et hods include a reversal of
movem ent at HOMESPEED2 until the required event occurs.
6 .1 4 Disa ble Mode
The disabling of the drive m ay be the result of an explicit command from the
m ot ion controller or the drive’s own response t o a fault condition. When the
drive becomes disabled, the Disable Mode function can be used in certain cases
to bring the m ot or to a fast stop before power to t he m otor is shut off. This
reduces the am ount of mot or coast ing.
Use the Serv oStudio Disa ble Mode screen to select the methods and
parameters to be used for stopping the m ot or when the drive becom es disabled.
The Disable mode consists of two mechanisms: Active Disa bling and D yn a m ic
Br ak in g.
Va rCom D escr iption
DI SMODE
Defines how t he drive will respond when it becomes
disabled.
DI SMODE 0 No act ive disabling; no dynam ic braking.
