Set GEARMODE t o 3 to indicate to the drive t hat the signals are received on
the Secondary Encoder inputs on the Machine I/ F connector (C3) at pins 1
and 11 (Quadrature A) and pins 2 an 12 (Quadrature B) .
8 .6 .3 Up/ D ow n Count ing
In an up/ down counting system , pulses on one signal increm ent the motor
position while pulses on the other signal decrement the m otor position. The
signals must be connected to the Controller I/ F connector.
When the pulse signal is applied to the A channel, the external position counter
(PEXT) increm ents and rotates the motor in a positive direction.
The pulse signal applied to the B channel decrements the external position
counter (PEXT) and rotates the m otor in a negative direction.
The line frequency and the gearing relationship determine the speed and am ount
of the shaft m ovem ent.

Pulse and Direction inputs on the Controller I/ F connector (C2) at pins 28
and 11 (Up) and pins 9 and 27 (Down) .
In the ServoStudio Motion task screen, select Oper at ion Mode 1 – An alog
Ve locit y to modify and test parameters.
