Maintenance
6.2.1 Precautions for hydraulic system
- The high pressure pipes can only be replaced by particularly qualified
personnel. Any impurity that enters the closed circuit will cause the
sudden deterioration of the entire hydraulic system.
6.2.2 Precautions for greasing and lubrication
Below are the main warnings during maintenance operations on the hydraulic
system:
-
Work on the hydraulic system is strictly forbidden unless carried out
by qualified and authorized personnel. The hydraulic system of this
machine is equipped with pressure accumulators that could result in
serious personal injury hazards.
-
Before any operation on the hydraulic pipes or components, make
sure there is no residual pressure in the system. For this purpose, after
having switched off the engine and applied the parking brake, act on
the control levers of the spool valves to release the pressure from the
hydraulic circuit.
-
Authorized and qualified personnel working on the hydraulic circuit
must clean the surrounding areas as scrupulously as possible before
working on it, to prevent dirt and impurities from entering the tank.
-
Checking, level restoration and hydraulic oil replacement operations
must be carried out with the machine positioned on level ground.
- Check the oil level with the oil at ambient temperature.
-
If a cylinder needs replacing (extraordinary maintenance), make sure
that any air bubbles in the pipes or the cylinder chambers of the cylinder
have been eliminated.
Below are the main warnings when greasing and lubricating the machine
components:
-
Wear gloves and goggles before greasing and lubricating to avoid skin
contact with lubricants.
- Always keep lubricants indoors and out of the reach of children.
- Clean the caps thoroughly before putting them back on.
-
When greasing, before injecting lubricating grease into the grease
nipples, clean them thoroughly to prevent mud, dust or other foreign
bodies from mixing with the grease, thus reducing or even canceling
the lubrication effect.
