8. Decommissioning
8.1 Short breaks
At the end of the working day, park the machine so that it does not present a
hazard. Take all precautions to prevent danger to persons approaching the
machine when it is not in use.
- Park the machine in a place where it will not be in the way.
- Make sure the ground on which the machine stands is firm, otherwise
place it on safe ground.
- Lower the telescopic arm and put the vibrating head in resting position
on the ground.
- Safely stop the machine. (*).
- If necessary, uncouple the machine from the tractor (**).
8.2 Extended stops/storage
(*) See par. “5.7” pag. 99
(**) See par. “5.2” pag. 80
For prolonged periods of parking (weeks or months), park the machine
adopting the same cautions valid for short stays and it is also recommended
to:
-
Carefully clean the machine. To do this, it is advisable to dismantle
the protective grilles and hoods and remove any accumulated foreign
bodies (e.g. fruit, leaves).
- After washing, dry all parts carefully with an air jet.
- Carry out a complete greasing of the machine.
-
Perform a general inspection and replace any worn or damaged parts.
- Repaint any damaged or worn parts.
- Store the machine in a covered and ventilated place.
-
It is good practice, during prolonged periods of inactivity, to keep the
machine raised off the ground so as not to damage the tires.
CAUTION
During periods of prolonged inactivity, periodic maintenance must be
carried out regularly with particular attention to liquids and all elements
subject to aging. Before putting the machine back into service, carry out an
extraordinary maintenance with an accurate check of all the mechanical,
hydraulic and electrical parts.
