User and maintenance manual - SEMI-MOUNTED HARVESTER WITH TRUNK SHAKER - TR80
Rev. 0 - 05/2021
3.4 Description of main components
3.4.1 Vibrating head
The shaker, or vibrating head, was designed for the harvesting of hanging
fruit (e.g. olives, walnuts, almonds, plums, pistachios, pecans, macadamias,
oranges, etc.) by means of the twisting of the stalk given by the vibration
transmitted to the perennial woody organs (trunk, branches).
Anchored to the distal end of the telescopic arm, the vibrating head is fixed
by means of anti-vibration rubbers that stop the transmission of vibration to
the machine body.
The vibrating head is attached to the holding arms by means of rubber
supporting joints (rubber suspensors) and a chain. The structure of the
vibrating head and its anchorage, if carried out correctly, ensures that there is
no risk of sudden movement of the same.
The vibrating head is driven by the hydraulic system, which also provides
every function of the machine.
The vibrating head is operated by the operator through hydraulic controls
located in the driver’s cab.
The manufacturer supplies different versions of the vibrating head depending
on the machine model. Their operation and maintenance remain unchanged
but the technical characteristics change as reported in paragraph “3.5.5
Technical data of the vibrating head” pag. 50.
