Rev. 0 - 05/2021
5. Machine use
5.1 Coupling to the tractor
The tractor to which the machine is to be connected must comply with the
following characteristics:
- It must be of the “open field” type (both wheeled and tracked) with an
engine power of at least 100 HP and a total gross mass at least 30%
higher than the gross mass of the machine itself.
- It must be equipped with a rear three-point hitch and power take-off
(PTO 540 rpm) for connecting the cardan shaft (supplied).
ATTENTION
It is always forbidden to connect the machine to the front three-point
anchoring system (if equipped) of the tractors.
- It must have two hydraulic quick release couplings and a standard 12
V socket. A third rapid hydraulic coupling on the tractor is necessary to
operate with the machine equipped with hydraulic brakes.
- It must have the fumes exhaust equipped with the appropriate devices
required during the approval phase.
- In case of passage or operation on sloping ground (<1%) the tractor
must be equipped with an anti-tipping structure in compliance with
the specific regulations in force. In this case, the tractor seat must be
equipped with a safety belt.
WARNING
To increase the stability and safety of the tractor-machine unit, it is
recommended to use the machine whose wheels are equipped with hydraulic
braking (optional).
- In the case of operation on broad-crowned tree canopy, the tractor
must be equipped with a structure against falling objects from above
in compliance with the specific standards in force.
ATTENTION
It is forbidden to connect the machine to a tractor that does not meet the safety
requirements set forth in current legislation. We recommend contacting the
authorities regarding the current requirements in your area.
