5.4 Commissioning
5.4.1 (Daily) Preventive checks
The pre-operational check consists of a visual inspection performed by the
operator before each work shift. It must be performed on the machine to
check for anomalies before the operator proceeds to test the functions.
It also serves to determine whether routine maintenance procedures are
necessary.
DANGER
If even one check fails, do not start work, stop the machine and repair the
fault.
WARNING
The operator is responsible for performing pre-operational checks and
routine maintenance.
For the safety of the operator, other people and for maximum efficiency, carry
out a general check of the machine:
•
Make sure you have enough fuel (tractor) for sufficient range to avoid
the risk of a sudden stop.
• Thoroughly clean the instruments and plates.
•
Check that the machine is perfectly coupled to the tractor and that all
its parts are in the intended position and solidly locked.
•
Check that the connecting pins between the tractor and the machine
are in perfect condition. In case of wear, they must be replaced before
using the machine.
• Check the proper operation of all safety devices on the machine.
• Check the conditions of the electrical power cord.
•
Check the hydraulic system for oil leaks and the correct level, restoring
it if necessary.
•
Visually inspect the entire machine for cracks in welds or structural
components and for dents or damage to the machine.
•
Check that pins, joints and bolts are properly tightened and in the
correct position.
• Check tire inflation pressure.
• Check for cuts or breaks in the tarpaulin highlighted by rustication.
DANGER
The explosion of a tyre may provoke severe damages to the entire machine;
do not use the machine whit damaged, deflate or worn tyres.
