Decommissioning
8.3 Machine disposal
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT
At the end of the life cycle of the machine it is recommended not to dispose
of the parts in the environment, but to rely on specialized companies able to
provide for this operation in compliance with the regulations in force.
The rules on decommissioning and elimination of pollutants vary according to
the legislation of the countries where the machine is used.
For further information on disposal, please contact the relevant authorities.
CAUTION
Never try to re-use machine parts or components that may still appear intact
once they have been declared no longer serviceable.
The following are some of the main substances that should be considered and
treated as special waste.
Spent lubricating and hydraulic oil
Extreme caution is recommended when disposing of used oil. This is in
fact classified as a substance harmful to water. Do not dispose of used oil
into water, soil, drains or sewers. Violation of these requirements is legally
punishable. To dispose of exhausted oils refer to the appropriate authorized
consortiums.
Cartridges and filter elements
Units, boxes and filter cartridges are classified as special waste and must be
disposed of accordingly. Observe applicable local regulations.
