The communication modules for the SIMATIC ET 200SP connect the SIMATIC ET 200SP
Distributed Controller with Industrial Ethernet networks. The module can also be used for the
integration of the ET 200SP Distributed Controller into an IPv6-based network. The CP
1543SP-1 communication processor also offers the integrated security functions firewall
(Stateful Packet Inspection), VPN (IPsec) and protocols for data encryption (for example,
SNMPv3) and this way protects individual ET 200SP Distributed Controllers and complete
automation cells against unauthorized access.
The CP 1542SP-1 IRC supports the TeleControl communication. By using the CP 1542SP-1
IRC, the ET 200SP Distributed Controller can be used as a remote terminal unit (substation)
in TeleControl systems. The Ethernet-based connection to the control center takes place via
the protocols SINAUT ST7, TeleControl Server Basic, IEC 60870-5-104 or DNP3. The CP
1542SP-1 IRC has the function of a data buffering. This allows up to 100000 events to be
buffered in case of a connection termination.
All functions can be configured with STEP 7 Professional as of V14 (TIA Portal).
