Key Instructions
Parameter 7749 or 7750 – to recover base software and restore current DCR state
1. To save current parameter con󹪝guration and current SOP:
– from ToolSuite Drive Tool Host, Con󹪝guration → Save As to save current con󹪝guration
parameter 󹪝le to your PC.
– from ToolSuite Drive Tool Host, Con󹪝guration → System Program à Upload System
Program to save current SOP 󹪝le to your PC.
2. On a PC, remove all secure USB key 󹪝les from USB 󹪞ash disk OR rename them.
3. Insert FAT32-based USB 󹪞ash disk into DCR.
4. Generate nxgrecover.factory key via keypad parameter 7749 OR nxgrecover key via keypad
parameter 7750.
– The 󹪝le should be created within 30 seconds.
– ONLY one type should be created.
– You can remove the USB 󹪞ash disk, insert into PC to check 󹪝le creation. If trying to recover,
then re-insert into DCR
5. STOP HERE IF YOU ARE ONLY CREATING THE KEYS

STOP HERE IF YOU ARE ONLY CREATING THE KEY; REMOVE USB FLASH DISK. PROCEEDING
WILL RESET YOUR DCR AND ERASE ALL SAVED PARAMETERS ON DCR.
6. Reboot DCR (leave USB 󹪞ash disk inserted).
• Wait approximately 5-7 minutes for Green LED blink 7x repeatedly.
– If it does not (e.g. Red LED blink 15x repeatedly), recover FAILED.
– If the DCR boots up normally and you can connect via Drive Tool or Debug Tool, then the
USB 󹪞ash drive was not recognized. Try another brand and/or model.
1. Remove USB 󹪞ash disk from DCR.
2. Reboot DCR.
3. After ~60-90 seconds, you should be able to connect using Drive Tool and Debug Tool using
default IP con󹪝guration.
4. Now you will be able to reload customer-speci󹪝c parameter con󹪝guration 󹪝le and SOP 󹪝le
from your PC.
5. Then reboot DCR again.
