2.11.1 Description
Line reactors for Smart Line Modules limit low-frequency line harmonics to permissible
values. For this reason, line reactors should always be used.
2.11.2 Safety information
CAUTION
A clearance of 100 mm must be maintained around the reactor in order to minimize the
influence of magnetic fields in other components and cables.
Note
The connection lines between line reactor and Line Module must be kept as short as
possible (max. 10 m).
If at all possible, shielded connecting cables should be used.
Do not route any cables near the line reactor. If this cannot be avoided, observe a minimum
distance of 150 mm.
CAUTION
Only the line reactors or Active Interface Modules described in this Manual should be used.
The following can occur if line reactors are used that have not been approved for
SINAMICS S120 by SIEMENS:
- The Line Modules may become damaged/faulty.
- Line reactions can occur that can damage or interfere with other loads powered from the
same network.
CAUTION
The surface temperature of the line reactors may exceed 80 °C.
