26 Installation and Setup
2005995 Rev O – 210712
Work Area
A Printhead may occasionally require priming, purging, or flushing due to environmental
contaminants collecting on the Nozzle Face. Priming, purging, and flushing require the use
of clean, non-abrasive, lint-free wipes (Part Number 2005470) that will become soiled with
ink during use. A small cabinet or box near the Printer to store the wipes and to keep them
clean is recommended. A small waste receptacle is also recommended for soiled wipe
disposal.
Vibration
CoPilot 500 Print Engines do not de-prime easily. They are tolerant of being bumped by
passing products and normal Conveyor vibrations. However, sustained, long-term vibration
may lead to erratic print performance. In cases where the Conveyor is especially vibration-
prone, the entire printing system should be mounted on an optional Floor Stand available
from Squid Ink.
Maintenance Access
When planning the installation, allow for easy access to the Printheads so that priming and
cleanup can be done conveniently.
