Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Solution
Print quality distorts occasionally
or system locks up.
Line noise, brownouts, or
blackouts may be affecting the
quality of the AC power supply
to the system.
Install a good-quality AC power
Line Conditioner or
Uninterruptible Power Supply
(Part Number 2004199) to
ensure clean electrical supply.
Touchscreen buttons no longer
activate the corresponding
functions or are unresponsive.
Touchscreen needs to be
recalibrated.
Recalibrate the Touchscreen
(see “Calibrating the
Touchscreen” on page 94).
Controller display goes black
with one sentence of text.
System power corruption.
Install a Line Conditioner (Part
Number 2004199) to ensure
clean electrical supply.
High static discharge. Add a 0.25" (or wider) Ground
Braid (Part Number 2005024)
between the Controller and
earth ground.
Note: A substitute Carbon Fiber
Brush (Part Number 2006400) is
also available to reduce
substrate static electricity build-
up.
Print quality is poor. Clogged Ink Nozzles on the
Printhead.
Clean the Nozzle Face (see
“Cleaning the Nozzle Faceplate”
on page 119).
Dried ink or impurities in the
Printhead or Ink Line.
Flush the Printhead (see
“Flushing the Printhead” on
page 120).
Air bubbles in the Printhead or
Ink Line.
Purge the Printhead of air
bubbles (see “Purging the
Printhead of Air Bubbles” on
page 123).
