Commissioning a Bag Ink System
After the Ink Bag is attached, the ink system must be commissioned (primed) to get the ink
flowing into the Printhead.
Items Needed to Commission the Printhead:
• Nonabrasive lint-free wipes (Part Number 2007021)
• Container to collect discharge ink
• Protective gloves
To Commission the Printhead:
1. Place a container suitable for capturing ink under the Printhead Purge Tube.
2. Remove the Cap from the Printhead Purge Tube.
3. Fold a lint-free, non-abrasive wipe and hold it gently against the front of the Nozzle
Face.
4. Gently but firmly press down on the Ink Bag until ink exits the Purge Tube and the
Nozzle Face. Continue to press the Ink Bag until ink comes out of the Purge Tube
without air bubbles.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to have the wipe in place before applying pressure to the
Ink Bag, and be sure to release the pressure before removing the wipe.
