Lift/Lower Joystick Test
See Figure 4-31.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove the lift/lower joystick. (See “Lift/Lower
Joystick” on page 4-65.)

3. Place the joystick in the center position.
4. Connect test leads to the switch terminals (1 and 2).
5. Check for continuity.
Is continuity indicated?
YES The joystick is faulty; replace the joystick.
NO Proceed to step 6.
6. Pull and hold the joystick in the lift position.
7. Check for continuity.
Is continuity indicated?
YES Proceed to step 8.
NO The joystick is faulty; replace the joystick.
8. Place the joystick in the center position.
9. Connect test leads to the switch terminals (1 and 5).
10. Check for continuity.
Is continuity indicated?
YES The joystick is faulty; replace the joystick.
NO Proceed to step 11.
11. Move the joystick to the lift position.
12. Check for continuity.
Is continuity indicated?
YES The joystick is good.
NO The joystick is faulty; replace the joystick.
