Radiator/Hydraulic Oil Cooler
Assembly
Removal
See Figures 3-7 through 3-10.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Allow engine to cool completely.
3. Raise the hood.
• The engine and radiator coolant capacity is 9.5 qt (9
L). Have suitable containers that can hold up to 5 gal
(18.9 L) when draining engine coolant.
• Dispose of fluids properly at approved local recycling
centers. If recycling facilities are not available,
contact your local environmental department for
correct fluid disposal procedure.
• The hydraulic oil tank capacity is 7.5 gal (28.4 L).
Have suitable containers that can hold up to 10 gal
(37.8L) when draining hydraulic oil.
4. Drain engine cooling system.
5. Drain hydraulic oil system. (See “Hydraulic Oil

6. Open latches (1) and remove screen assembly (2)
from radiator/hydraulic oil cooler assembly (3).
7. Remove two nuts (12) and bottom screen (13).

• Label all hoses before removing to ensure correct
installation.
• Plug hoses after disconnecting to prevent loss of
hydraulic oil.
Never remove the expansion tank cap when the
coolant is hot. The engine must be shut down and
cooled before the expansion tank cap is removed.
Very hot coolant will be sprayed from the
expansion if the cap is loosened before the
engine has cooled. Serious personal injury can
occur.
