Fuel Pump Test
See Figure 4-36.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Allow engine to cool completely.

NOTE
Label all wires before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
3. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector (1) from
the mower harness.
4. Using a jumper wire, connect the battery positive
terminal to fuel pump terminal (2).
5. Using a jumper wire, connect the battery negative
terminal to fuel pump terminal (3).
Does the fuel pump operate?
YES The fuel pump is good.
NO The fuel pump is faulty; replace the fuel
pump.
Fan Motor Test
See Figure 4-37.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Allow engine to cool completely.

NOTE
Label all wires before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
3. Disconnect the fan motor harness connector (5) from
the mower harness.
4. Using a jumper wire, connect the battery positive
terminal to fan motor terminal (1) and terminal (3).
5. Using a jumper wire, connect the battery negative
terminal to fan motor terminal (2) and terminal (4).
Does the fan motor operate?
YES The fan motor is good.
NO The fan motor is faulty; replace the fan
motor.
