Engine
Removal and Installation
See Figures 3-15 through 3-21.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Allow engine to cool completely.
3. Disconnect battery negative (–) cable at battery.
4. Drain engine oil.
5. Remove the hood. (See “Hood” on page 9-4.)
6. Remove the hydraulic tank. (See “Hydraulic Oil Tank”
on page 6-62.)
7. Remove radiator/hydraulic oil cooler. (See
“Radiator/Hydraulic Oil Cooler Assembly” on
page 3-8.)
8. Remove muffler and exhaust assembly. (See “Muffler
and Exhaust Assembly” on page 3-7.)
9. Remove fuel filters. (See “Fuel Filters” on page 3-11.)
10. Remove fuel pump. (See “Fuel Pump” on page 3-12.)
11. Remove remote oil filter. (See “Remote Oil Filter” on
page 3-12.)
12. Remove hydraulic gear pump. (See “Gear Pump” on
page 6-49.)
13. Remove hydraulic traction pump. (See “Traction
Pump” on page 5-40.)

Cover the opening on the intake manifold to prevent
debris from entering the engine.
14. Loosen hose clamp (1) and disconnect hose (2) from
intake manifold.

15. Remove screw (3), three flat washers (4) and nut (5).
16. Disconnect the throttle cable (6) from the engine
bracket.

Label all hoses before removing to ensure correct
installation.
17. Disconnect outlet hose (7) and return hose (8) from
remote oil filter adapter.
18. Remove return hose (8) from clamp (9)
