Lift Arms
Removal and Installation
See Figure 8-13.
Front right lift arm is shown; all other lift arms are similar.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove cutting unit from mower. (See “Cutting Unit”
on page 8-22.)
3. Remove lift cylinder. (See “Lift Cylinders” on
page 6-59.

4. For outside lift arm assemblies, remove lock nut (4),
washers (2), screw (1), and hose support (3).
5. Remove cotter pin (5), washer (6) and pivot yoke (7).
6. Remove two screws (8), washers (9), lift plates (10)
and nuts (11).
7. Remove cotter pin (12) and washer (13). Slide lift
arm (15) out of spring arm (14) and remove second
washer (13).
8. Remove two screws (17) and stop plate (16).
9. Remove screws (18), lock washers (19) and stop
(20).
Installation Notes
• Install lift arms by reversing the order of removal.
• Lubricate grease fittings with grease that meets or
exceeds NLGI Grade 2 LB specifications.
Spring Arms
Removal and Installation
See Figure 8-14.
Front right spring arm is shown; all other spring arms are
similar.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove cutting unit from mower. (See “Cutting Unit”
on page 8-22.)
3. Remove lift cylinder. (See “Lift Cylinders” on
page 6-59.
4. Remove lift arm. (See “Lift Arms” on page 8-23.)

5. Remove spring (1).
6. Remove screw (2), lock nut (4) and collar (3).
7. Remove spring arm (5) and washer (6).
8. Remove two screws (7), lock washers (8) and spring
bracket (9).
Installation Notes
• Inspect four bushings (10) in spring arm for wear or
damage. Replace if required.
• Install spring arms by reversing the order of removal.
• Lubricate grease fittings with grease that meets or
exceeds NLGI Grade 2 LB specifications.
