Hydraulic Oil Tank
Removal and Installation
See Figures 6-65 through 6-66.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable from the
battery.
3. Remove the hood. (See “Hood” on page 9-4.)
4. Drain hydraulic oil tank. (See “Hydraulic Oil Tank—
Drain Procedure” on page 6-49.)

• Label all hydraulic hoses before disconnecting to aid
in installation.
• Close all openings with caps or plugs to prevent
contamination.
5. Disconnect manifold return tube (1) at the hydraulic
oil tank. Remove 90° fitting (2).
6. Disconnect oil cooler return hose (3) from hydraulic
tank. Note orientation and remove 45° fitting (4).
7. Disconnect pump suction hose (5) from hydraulic
tank. Remove straight fitting (6).

8. Remove two screws (7), lock washers (8), flat
washers (9) and hood lanyard (10).
9. Support hydraulic tank (11).
10. Remove three screws (12), lock washers (13) and flat
washers (14).
11. Lift the tank (11) off the mower.
12. Remove the suction strainer (15) from the bottom of
the tank.
