Lift/Lower Circuit
Symptom: Cutting units do not lower.
Symptom: Cutting units do not lift.
Optional Work Light Circuit
Symptom: Work lights do not turn on.
Probable Cause Remedy
Engine in overheat condition. Lower solenoid (SOL5) will not energize if the engine temperature is above 230° F (110°
C). Allow the engine to cool and check the engine cooling system.
Faulty lift/lower joystick. Test the lift/lower joystick (SW3). (See “Lift/Lower Joystick Test” on page 4-58.)
Faulty lower solenoid. Test the lower solenoid (SOL5).(See “Solenoids Test” on page 4-59.)
Faulty wire harness. Measure continuity between ignition relay (K1) terminal 87 and the lift/lower joystick
(SW3) terminal 1. Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between the lift/lower joystick (SW3) terminal 5 and MCU (U1)
terminal 5-10. Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between the MCU (U1) terminal 2-01 and the lower solenoid (SOL5).
Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between ground and the lower solenoid (SOL5) ground terminal.
Continuity must be indicated.
Faulty MCU Replace MCU
Probable Cause Remedy
Engine in overheat condition. Lift solenoid (SOL6) will not energize if the engine temperature is above 230° F (110° C).
Allow the engine to cool and check the engine cooling system.
Faulty lift/lower joystick. Test the lift/lower joystick (SW3). (See “Lift/Lower Joystick Test” on page 4-58.)
Faulty lower solenoid. Test the lower solenoid (SOL6). (See “Solenoids Test” on page 4-59.)
Faulty wire harness. Measure continuity between the ignition relay (K1) terminal 87 and lift/lower joystick
(SW3) terminal 1. Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between the lift/lower joystick (SW3) terminal 2 and MCU (U1)
terminal 5-11. Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between the MCU (U1) terminal 2-03 and the lift solenoid (SOL6).
Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between ground and the lift solenoid (SOL6) ground terminal.
Continuity must be indicated.
Faulty MCU Replace MCU
Probable Cause Remedy
Faulty light switch. Test the light switch (SW6). (See “Light Switch Test” on page 4-57.)
Faulty wire harness Measure continuity between ignition relay (K1) terminal 87 and light switch (SW6)
terminal 3. Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between light switch (SW6) terminal 4 and work lights (L1, L2 and L3).
Continuity must be indicated.
Measure continuity between ground and the work lights (L1, L2 and L3). Continuity must
be indicated.
