Traction Linkage
Disassembly and Assembly
See Figure 5-82.

1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Raise the hood.
3. Remove traction cable screw (1), flat washers (2) and
nyloc nut (3). Loosen mounting nuts and remove
traction cable (4).
4. Remove two nyloc nuts (5) and flat washers (6).
Remove traction arm damper (7) and switch arm (8).
5. Disconnect switch (9) from mower harness. Remove
two screws (10), washers (11) and nuts (12).
6. Remove screw (13), flat washer (14) and flange nut
(15). Lift pump arm (16) off pump.
7. Remove four screws (17), lock washers (18) and flat
washers (19). Lift pump linkage (20) plate off pump
(21).
8. Assemble four screws (17), lock washers (18) and
flat washers (19) to hold pump trunnion cover in
place.
Assembly Notes
• Assemble the traction linkage by reversing the order
of disassembly.
• Torque trunnion cover screws (13) to 24 lb-ft (33
N·m).
• Adjust neutral switch. (See “Neutral Switch
Adjustment” on page 5-22.)
