Lift and Lower Solenoid Coils
This procedure applies to the following solenoids:
Lift Solenoid (1)
Lower Solenoid (2)
The lift and lower solenoid coils are located on the lift
valve (3) under the operator platform.
Removal and Installation
See Figure 4-59.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable at the
battery.

NOTE
Label connectors before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
3. Disconnect connector (4) from the solenoid coil.
4. Remove nut (5) and solenoid coil from the valve.
Installation Notes
Clean solenoid of any debris or surface rust and
apply dielectric grease (Jacobsen PN 365422) to
solenoid coil before installation.
Install the solenoid by reversing the order of removal.
Tighten nut (5) to 10 lb-ft (13.6 N·m).
4WD Solenoid Coil
Removal and Installation
See Figure 4-60.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable at the
battery.
3. Locate the 4WD valve (2) under the seat.

Label connectors before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
4. Disconnect 4WD solenoid coil connector (4).
5. Remove nut (3), and remove the solenoid (1) from
the valve (2).
Installation Notes
Clean solenoid of any debris or surface rust and
apply dielectric grease (Jacobsen PN 365422) to
solenoid coil before installation.
Install the solenoid by reversing the order of removal.
Tighten nut (3) to 3 lb-ft (4.1 N·m).
