Fuel Pump
Removal and Installation
See Figure 4-57.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Raise the hood.
3. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable at the
battery.

NOTE
Label all wires before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
4. Disconnect wire connector (1).
5. Loosen clamps and disconnect fuel pump input (2)
and output hoses (3). Remove two screws (4), lock
washers (5) and flat washers (6).
6. Remove fuel pump (7).
Installation Note
Install the fuel solenoid by reversing the order of removal.
Mow and Backlap Solenoid Coils
This procedure applies to the following solenoids:
Front Mow Solenoid (1)
Rear Mow Solenoid (2)
Front Backlap Solenoid (3)
Rear Backlap Solenoid (4)
The front mow and backlap solenoid coils are located on
the front reel valve (7) under the operator platform.
The rear mow and backlap solenoid coils are located on
the rear reel valve (8) under the operator platform.
Removal and Installation
See Figure 4-58.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable at the
battery.

NOTE
Label connectors before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
3. Disconnect connector (6) from the solenoid coil.
4. Remove nut (5) and solenoid coil from the valve.
Installation Notes
Clean solenoid of any debris or surface rust and
apply dielectric grease (Jacobsen PN 365422) to
solenoid coil before installation.
Install the solenoid coil by reversing the order of
removal.
Tighten nut (5) to 10 lb-ft (13.6 N·m).
