1. Slide rubber bellows (13) as far as possible up
column (7).
2. Drive roll pin (6) out of universal joint.
3. Remove pivot screws (9).
4. Remove gas spring cap nuts (12).
5. Remove pin (11) and gas spring (8).
6. Remove pivot cap nuts (2) and nylon bushings (3).
7. Press pivots (4) out of column (7). Separate pivot
base (1) from column.
8. Remove rubber bellows (13) from column (7).
Assembly
• Assemble the steering column by reversing the order
of removal.
• Inspect all parts for wear or damage and replace as
necessary.
• Always use new cap nuts (2 and 9).
• Always use new roll pin (6).
Wear eye protection when assembling and
disassembling the steering column. Pins and
other objects may be propelled into the air,
causing eye injury.
