31) Inspection of Valve Springs
1. Measure valve spring free length a. Replace if the length
is less than specified value.
2. Measure valve spring inclination b. Replace if it is over
specified value.

1.5 mm (0.06 in)

35.0 mm (1.38 in)
Functional Limit :

30) Removal of Valves and Springs
1. Place cylinder block on the work bench 1. Push in valve
spring retainer 2 by using valve spring compressor
attachment 3, remove cotter pin 4, and then, remove
spring 5 and valve 6.
Valve Spring Compressor Attachment 3 :
P/N. 3AB-99076-0
Valves, springs and other related parts should
be arranged in the order they are removed.
