When
the
outer
primary chaincase
is
removed
access will be gained
to
the
chainwheel and shock
absorber assembly.
If
the
shock
absorber
rubbers
are
to
be renewed. It
Is
recommended
that
the
chainwheel assembly be removed completely and
mounted on a special Jig, which can be held securely
in
a vice. This
Is
shown
in
Fig.
C9
together
with
the
special leverage
bar
which will be essential·for
this task. The
Jig
and
bar
can be made up
to
the
dimensions shown
in
Fig.
C10.
The
chainwheel shock
absorber
retaining plate
is
secured with locking
plates
and bolts. Straighten
the
tabs before
attempting
to
remove
the
bolts.
