5.6.1.8. Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation with Volume Guaranteed(SIMV-VG)
Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation-Pressure Control (SIMV-PC) mode is provided by
the ventilator or triggered by the patient. The ventilator waits for the patient to try to breathe to
provide pressure-controlled ventilation synchronously according to the set trigger window time. If
there is no patient breathing, the ventilator provides pressure-controlled ventilation at the end of
the trigger window time. Inspiration and expiration follow the set inspiratory time and frequency
switching. If the patient breathes outside the trigger window time, the ventilator provides pressure
support ventilation, and the inspiration and expiration are switched by the patient according to the
preset expiratory trigger sensitivity. The minimum minute ventilation of the patient is provided by
pressure control volume assurance ventilation.
SIMV-VG ventilation mode setup parameters:
• Tidal volume (V
T
): 20~300mL (child), 20~1500mL (adult) , 10~1500(adult optional)
• Breathing frequency (Freq): 4~100bpm
• Inspiratory Time (TINSP) : 0.2~5s
• Inspiratory Slope (T
SLOPE
) : 0~2s
• Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) : OFF, 3~30cmH
