Count In Manual Mode:
1. From the Testing Menu, select <Manual Mode>. The Manual Mode screen should now be
displayed.
2. Select the desired <Isotope> and <Detector>. If they are not already displayed in the top
left of the screen, select either the <Isotope> icon to display a list of the isotopes you can
select from, or select the <Detector> icon to choose between the well and probe.
3. Select to highlight the desired method to use for counting: <By Time>, <By Count> or
<Continuous> counting.
• <By Time>: When counting by preset time, the system counts for the time interval
selected, displayed in seconds. Enter the desired counting time in the box in front of
the seconds field.
• <By Count>: The system counts to just beyond the number of ROI counts entered in the
box before the “Counts” field.
• <Continuous>: The system will count until <Stop> is selected or the system times out.
4. Select <Measure>. The system displays a message to prepare to count the sample. The
count type is displayed at the top of the screen. Select <Accept>.
5. If you have not performed a calibration already today, the Counting Standard screen is now
displayed. Once counting begins, ROI counts, ROI CPM, Elapsed time and time Remaining
are indicated to the right of the counting window. When the system finishes counting, it
will stop and complete a final download for the spectrum. The message “Counting
Complete” is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
NOTE: You can perform a spectrum analysis on the calibration before selecting <Next> if
desired.
6. Select <Next> to return to the Manual Mode screen so you can perform a manual mode
count.
7. After selecting <Next>, the system will display a message to “Prepare to Count Sample”.
Select <Accept>.
8. The system will now count the sample and display the spectrum, ROI Counts and ROI cpm,
with elapsed time and time remaining while you are counting.
NOTE: You can perform a spectrum analysis on the manual count before selecting <Next>
if desired. You can print this spectrum for your records.
9. Select <Next> to return to the Manual Mode screen. You can now count another sample if
desired, which will be added to the list of items previously counted.
10. You can measure additional samples or delete any items already counted.
11. Select <Reports> to display a date range selection that you adjust to the date range desired
that you wish to display and print. Enter the date range and select <Accept> to advance to
the Manual Mode Report. If you select the <Printer> icon, the report will print.
12. Select <History> to display “Select Detector”. You can choose a current detector on the
system or a previously connected detector. Select <Accept> to display Manual Mode
History. You can select <Delete> to delete the highlighted count, select <Delete All> to
delete all the items in the History or select <Reports> to enter a Data Range and select
<Accept> to advance to the Manual Mode Report. You can now select the <Printer> icon
and the report will print.
13. Select <Back> to return to the Manual Mode screen.
