Before using the Atomlab 960 for counting purposes, it is important that you take a few
minutes to prepare the system for operation. The following functions are accessed from the
Quality Assurance Menu:
• Calibration/Constancy Fixtures
• Daily Calibration/Constancy
• Calibration History (for Calibration/Constancy History)
• High Voltage
• High Voltage History
• Background
• Background History
• Chi-Square
• Chi Square History
• MDA
• MDA History
• Last counted spectrum
Daily Calibration and High Voltage must be performed before counting begins.
NOTE: Before you begin with this chapter, be sure to enter your facility name and address in
the Utilities pages, as explained in the section on System Setup. This will allow the system to
print the facility name on some printouts. It is also necessary to select or add a detector as
explained in the Utilities chapter under the Detectors section.
