Perform a High Voltage Adjustment:
NOTE: When a High Voltage Adjustment is performed on a detector, the previous calibration
and Chi-Square for that detector are zeroed. You must perform a new calibration and
Chi-Square for a detector following a High Voltage Adjustment. You can do a High Voltage
Adjustment on any detector at any time, but is generally performed quarterly.
1. From the Quality Assurance screen, select <High Voltage>. The Select Detector screen is now
displayed.
2. Highlight the detector for which the high voltage adjustment will be performed and select
<Accept>. The Position Source screen is now displayed.
3. Place the Cs-137 source in front of the well or probe, or use the constancy fixture. Select
<Accept>.
4. The MCA Operation In Progress message displays while the high voltage adjustment is
performed. When the high voltage information is gathered, it is displayed on the HV
Calibration Information screen. High voltage values range between 950 and 1150 volts.
NOTE: Once a High Voltage Adjustment is started, it will run until it is completed unless you
choose <Abort> to stop the count. The system will provide a message that the High Voltage
Calibration was aborted by the user and may request that user power cycle the system
before continuing. Select <Accept> to return to the Quality Assurance screen.
5. Select <Staff> to advance to the Select Staff Member screen. A list of staff, with last name,
first name and identification #, is displayed. Highlight the staff member to be associated
with this high voltage adjustment.
6. Select <Accept> to accept the staff member and return to the HV Calibration Information
screen with the Staff Member selected.
7. Select <Accept> to accept the high voltage adjustment and return to the Quality Assurance
screen. The high voltage adjustment accepted will now be listed for the detector selected on
the Select Detector screen.
View A High Voltage History:
1. Select <High Voltage History> from the Quality Assurance Page. The High Voltage History is
now displayed. The most recently completed high voltage is highlighted. To view high
voltage adjustments not displayed on the High Voltage History list, use the <▲> and <▼>
arrows to scroll through the list.
Delete A High Voltage History:
Highlight the item you want to delete.
2. Select <Delete>. A warning message is displayed stating that you are about to permanently
delete the high voltage selected.
3. Select <Accept> to delete the noted High Voltage Adjustment and return to the High Voltage
History, or <Cancel> to return to the High Voltage History without deleting.
4. Select <Back> to return to the <Quality Assurance> page.
