Unpacking Instructions

NOTE: Two people are required to remove the Thyroid Uptake System from the shipping pallet.
Tool Required:
• Knife
• Medium Phillips Head Screwdriver
The Biodex Thyroid Uptake System you have purchased is shipped in a box on a pallet that
contains a ramp as part of the packing material. This ramp can be easily assembled to make it
possible to remove the system from the shipping pallet.
1. Cut the straps off the box that secure the Thyroid Uptake System to the pallet.
2. Remove the box from over the contents. If necessary, cut the tall box to remove it.
3. The plywood piece on top of the stand is a ramp to roll the stand out of the box. Slide the
2" x 4" blocks on the end of the ramp under the pallet on the side with the collimator arm.
4. Remove any boxes that are shipped within the uptake stand carton, which include the
printer, touch-screen panel and any other parts – put these packages aside for now.
5. Unpack ramp and slide into slots at the front of the pallet..
6. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the block shown in step 2. Lift unit slightly and
then remove 2
nd
block.
7. The stand is shipped with the weight supported by the metal frame on the bottom of the
stand (no weight rests on the casters during shipment). Push from the side opposite the
collimator arm. The wheels on the base under the arm will connect with the ramp system
and slide forward. If there are two people available, each person should grab a handle on
the side of the upper shelf. Slide the stand to the edge of the pallet and then carefully roll
the stand down the ramp onto the floor.
8. Remove the plastic or protective wrappings and foam from around the arm and stand.
