33. When the counting is complete, the message “Counting Complete” is displayed at the
bottom of the screen. Select <Next> to return to the Thyroid Uptake screen.
NOTE: If you wish to perform a spectrum analysis, select the <Analysis> icon before
selecting <Next>.
34. Once the thyroid count is complete, position the probe over the patient's thigh and select
<Count Patient Bkg>. The system instructs the user to position the probe to count the
patient’s background. The distance bar and a red LED light can be flipped out from the rim
into the center of the collimator face to help align the thyroid position. Remember to flip
the LED back to the retracted position and move the distance bar to the bottom of the
collimator out of the field before counting. Select <Accept> to continue.
35. The system begins counting the patient's background. When counting is complete, the
message "Counting Complete" is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Select <Next>.
36. The Thyroid Uptake Results are displayed.
NOTE: If you are not satisfied with the results for the uptake study data set, select the item
you wish to recount and recount the thyroid or patient background.
37. If satisfied with the results select <Save>. The Thyroid Uptake Results screen is displayed.
Select <Save> again to save the dataset or select <Cancel> to return to the Thyroid Uptake
screen without saving the results.
NOTE: If you are performing multiple counts (datasets) after saving tell the patient when to
return for the next dataset to be counted.
38. Repeat steps 19 through 36 to count additional datasets.
To Perform A New Thyroid Uptake Study On An Existing Patient With A Previous Test Or Study
When Recounting A Standard:
1. When the patient arrives at the specified time, select <Testing> and then <Thyroid
Uptake>.
2. Highlight the patient on the Select or Add a Patient screen and select <Edit> to confirm you
have the correct patient and information. Select <Accept> to return to the Select or Add a
Patient screen.
NOTE: You can use the search options at the top of the screen to find the desired patient
by entering the last name and/or ID number and selecting <Search> (magnifying glass).
3. Select <Next> to advance to the Study Selection screen.
4. Select <Add Study> to advance to the Add Study screen.
5. Highlight the study to perform and select <Accept>. The Study Selection screen is now
displayed showing the original test and the new test you are going to perform.
NOTE: To view a previous study, highlight the previous test and select the <Report> icon at
the bottom of the screen. The results for the previous test are displayed after you select the
report type.
