ALTERNATOR BELT
Belt Adjustment
The alternator belt is a special maintenance free type
t
hat is pretensioned over the pulleys. This belt eliminates
the need for a tensioning device and does not require
periodic adjustment. Contact your Bobcat dealer for
replacement parts.
Belt Replacement
Stop the engine and open the rear door. (See REAR
DOOR (TAILGATE) on Page 116.)
Remove the air conditioning belt. (See AIR
CONDITIONING BELT on Page 154.)

Remove the clamp nut and bolt (Item 1). Remove the belt
shie
ld mounting nuts and bolts (Item 2) and remove the
belt shield (Item 3) [Figure 252].

Remove the bottom alternator mounting bolt (Item 2) and
lo
osen the top alternator mounting nut (Item 1)
[Figure 253].
Move the alternator toward the engine as
far as it will go
and remove the belt from the pulleys. Inspect the pulleys
for wear.
Install new belt.

Use a prybar (Item 1) [Figure 254] to move the alternator
until the bottom alternator mounting bolt (Item 2)
[Figure 253] can be installed.
Tighten the top alternator mounting nut (Item 1) and
bo
ttom alternator mounting bolt (Item 2) [Figure 253].
Install the air conditioning belt. (See AIR
CONDITIONING BELT on Page 154.)
Install the belt shield, mounting nuts and bolts, and clamp
n
ut and bolt [Figure 252].
Close the rear door.
