STARTING THE ENGINE
Standard Key Panel
AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
• Engines can have hot parts and hot exhaust gas.
Keep flammable material away.
• Do not use machines in atmosphere containing
explosive dust or gases.

Perform the PRE-STARTING PROCEDURE. (See PRE-
STARTING PROCEDURE on Page 77.)

Set the engine speed control to the idle position
[Figure 105].

Turn the key switch to RUN (Item 1) [Figure 106]. The
indicator lights on the left ins
trument panel will come ON
briefly and the Instrument Panel / monitoring system will
do a self test.

The machine will cycle the air intak
e heater automatically
based on temperature. The engine preheat icon (Item 1)
will be ON and the cycle time remaining will show in the
data display (Item 2) [Figure 107].
When the engine preheat icon goes OFF, turn the key
s
witch to START (Item 2). Release the key when the
engine starts and allow it to return to the RUN position
(Item 1) [Figure 106].
