DRIVE BELT (CONT’D)
Belt Replacement
Stop the engine and open the rear door. (See REAR
DOOR (TAILGATE) on Page 116.)
Remove the battery. (See Removing And Installing
Battery on Page 140.)

Remove the drive belt shield bolt (Item 1) [Figure 259].

T loosen the drive belt shield mounting bolts (top
bolt shown) (Item 1). Slide the drive belt shield (Item 2)
toward the back of the loader to unseat the shield from
the top and bottom drive belt shield mounting bolts.
Remove the drive belt shield (Item 2) [Figure 260].

Loosen the spring loaded idler adjustment bolt (Item 1).

nsert a 1/2 in. breaker bar (Item 2) [Figure 261] into the
slot provided in the stop arm as shown and push breaker
ba
r down to release tension on drive belt.
Tighten the adjustment bolt (Item 1) [Figure 261] to hold
the spring loaded idler off the drive belt.
Remove the drive belt from the hydrostatic pump pulley
an
d flywheel pulley. Inspect the pulleys for wear.
Install new drive belt.
Loosen the spring loaded idler adjustment bolt (Item 1)
[Figure 261] and allow the idler to contact the drive belt.
Continue the procedure on the next page.
