DC/DC converter
The DC/DC converter is a bi-directional power converter, which enables the interconnection of two DC systems with different voltage
levels. The DC/DC converter can boost the voltage from a lower voltage source to a higher DC-bus voltage, and step down the voltage of
a DC bus to feed the source/load. The DC/DC converter can either control the DC-source voltage, DC-source current, or DC-bus voltage.
The DC/DC converter is often needed due to a mismatch between the voltage of the energy source and the DC voltage of the system.
DC/DC converters can also be used as an adjustable DC voltage or current source and sink. A typical use case for the DC/DC converter is
to connect an energy source to a DC grid or DC bus of a drive system for backup power, peak shaving, or fully electric applications.
