Removing a cooling fan on 1U sled
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
3. Remove the 2U sled from 1U node.
NOTE: Observe the fan cable routing or make a note of the fan cable routing.
Steps
1. Route the fan cables properly through the fan guard and disconnect the fan cable connected to the connector on the power
distribution board (PDB) of the 1U sled.
NOTE: Fan 1, 2, 3 and 4 are connected to the 1U PDB.

2. Pull slightly to disengage the fan cable from the fan guard and then lift the fan module out of the fan cage.
NOTE: The airflow directional arrow outward on the fan indicates Reverse-Air-Flow (RAF).
