To remove a single harmonic from the set-up, set its amplitude to 0 % or use the
Remove Harmonic softkey. See Figure 4-15.

Figure 4-15. Softkeys for Waveform Edit mode
If harmonics are set up they are retained when harmonics are disabled by selecting Sine
(Enable/Disable Waveshape). This allows the output to be easily switched back and forth
between a distorted and sine wave output.
Note
Change between Harmonics and Sine mode is also available from the
Output Menu softkeys.
Note
When Sine is selected, the wave shape shown in the Waveform Menu
reflects the harmonics which would be present if Harmonics were enabled.
This means that the actual output will be a Sine wave, but the Waveform
Menu will show a distorted wave shape if harmonics other than the
fundamental are not zero.
Before a range change is allowed, the Instrument checks that the RMS
value of the potential
output in Harmonics mode is within the capability of
the new range. It may be that changing to a lower range will cause the
limits of the new range to be exceeded. For example: 1 A dc is set up on the
2 A range in Harmonic mode. The dc value of 1 A represents 50 % of the
2 A range and this is the maximum dc content allowed. If Sine mode is
selected the dc value remains set but the output reverts to a Sine wave. An
attempt to select the 1 A range change will cause an error message to be
generated because if Harmonics mode were selected, the dc content of the
distorted waveform (1 A) exceeds the 50 % of range maximum for the 1 A
range.
4-32. Grid Edit Mode
Note
Only the settings of the selected phase are visible in Grid Edit Mode. For
the safety of personnel, the Grid Edit Mode cannot be entered if the output
is ON. Similarly, when in Grid Edit Mode, the output cannot be turned ON.
If necessary, press to get to the top-softkey level. Select the Grid Edit softkey. The
mode is primarily designed to be used with an external keyboard and mouse for rapid
entry of several harmonics. The Grid Edit mode allows the Phase (L1, L2, etc) and
Channel (V or I) to be selected without changing focus back to the Output menu. The
range and RMS values for the voltage and current of the selected phase may be set. If
required, the voltage and current harmonics grid may be locked together to display
matching orders. See Figure 4-16.
