Removing a lithium battery
1. Put on an anti-static wrist strap.
2. Remove the target server blade.

3. Open the top cover of the server blade. See

blade on page 5-38 section.
4. Tilt the lithium battery in the direction shown by the arrow, and then lift it
away from the battery holder.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of the personal injury, do not attempt to
recharge the battery and do not crush, puncture or dispose of in fire.
CAUTION: Do not dispose the battery along with general household
waste. Use a public collection system, or return it to the Hitachi Data System
Support for recycling or proper disposal.
Installing a lithium battery
1. Put on an anti-static wrist strap.
2. Reverse the removal procedure.
3. If mezzanine card #4 installed then remove it.
