MAC Table
The MAC address table keeps track of the Media Access Control (MAC) addresses associated with
each port. This table enables the switch to forward unicast traffic through the appropriate port. The
MAC address table is sometimes called the bridge table or the forwarding database.
To display the MAC Table page, click Diagnostics > MAC Table in the navigation pane.

IMPORTANT:
The address table supports up to 16K MAC address entires; however, the UI will dis-
play up to 500 entries. If the MAC address you want to view is not displayed, you can
search for it by using the Filter option. You can enter a partial MAC address to view the
first 500 addresses that match your entry.

Maximum Entries Supported
The maximum number of MAC address entries that can be learned on the switch.
MAC Address Aging
Interval
The MAC address table (forwarding database) contains static entries, which never age out,
and dynamically-learned entries, which are removed if they are not updated within a given
time. Specify the number of seconds a dynamic address should remain in the MAC address
table after it has been learned.
VLAN ID The VLAN or VLANs with which the MAC address is associated.
MAC Address A unicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and/or filtering information. The
format is a six-byte MAC address, with each byte separated by colons.
Interface The port where this address was learned. The port identified in this field is the port through
which the MAC address can be reached. CPU is a special source port used for internal
management on the switch
