12Disassembling Handpieces

In this section:

• Disassemble the handpiece

• Clean the handpiece

• Clean the tip torquing base.

For Your Information

Here is some information that may help as you shut down the

CUSA EXcel system and disassemble the handpiece:

• Use the same disassembly procedure for all handpieces: 23 kHz

straight, 23 kHz angled, and 36 kHz straight.

• Handpiece cable connectors, tip pack packaging, manifold tubing

packaging, CEM nosecone packaging, slots in the tip torquing base,

torque wrench heads, and sterilizer tray lids are color coded:

23 kHz green

36 kHz blue
