Turn On the CUSA EXcel System
1. Turn on ( | ) the black System Power Switch (located on the front
panel).
Notice that the Wait (flashing) and the Cooling Water indicators are on.
The System Power Switch activates the CUSA EXcel system. When
activated, it automatically starts to draw distilled water through the
handpiece cooling system. This takes about one minute, during which
the CUSA EXcel system turns on the Wait and Cooling Water
indicators. The Wait indicator flashes.
When the CUSA EXcel system successfully fills the cooling system
with water, it turns the Wait and Cooling Water indicators off.
2. While waiting for the Wait and Cooling Water indicators to go off,
proceed with connecting the manifold suction tubing to the console.
Connect the Suction Tubing
1. Align the green band on
the manifold suction
tubing with the green
line on the front of the
console.
Caution
To avoid injury to surgical personnel, keep fingers away from the suction pinch
valve.
