Trouble –continued--
Symptom Cause Remedy
Error code (0XFFFFFFA) is
displayed in Chart Portfolio.
Wrong authorization code was
input.
Input the proper authorization
code you obtained again.
Error code (0xFFFFFF73) is
displayed while ARCS chart is
imported in Chart Portfolio.
Reading from CD-ROM was
faulty.
Clean the CD-ROM, and
perform the import procedure
again. If the error persists, the
CD-ROM or CD-ROM drive may
be out of order.
Contact the distributor of the
chart to request for replacement
of CD-ROM, or contact the JRC
sales representative to request
repair of the CD-ROM drive.
When the [ ] (Navigation &
Planning) button is left-clicked
in the startup menu, the
message “ECDIS License
Invalid” is displayed.
Dongle (key lock device) is
broken or the information of
Dongle and Software are not
matched.
Call the JRC sales
representative for repair.
ARCS chart is not displayed. Chart is imported when the term
of validity of ARCS has expired.
Chart Permit was registered
when the term of validity of
ARCS has expired.
Register the latest Chart Permit
within the expiration date, and
then import ARCS chart.
PIN input was canceled when
Navigation & Planning was
started.
Input PIN when starting
Navigation & Planning, and
select ARCS chart. ([Menu] -
[Chart] - [Option] - [S57/C-MAP/
ARCS])
Chart Permit type was changed
from trial version to regular
contract.
ARCS chart will not be
displayed, though it has been
displayed normally by that time.
Details of contract were
changed.
Contact the retailer from whom
ARCS was purchased to check
the details of the contract.
Alarm occurs frequently while
ARCS chart is displayed.
ECDIS has detected the alarm
information regarding ARCS
chart itself and displayed the
alarm.
Check the details of the alarm.

Error message
“????Earcs.dll????” is
displayed when Navigation &
Planning is started.
Index was not generated in
Chart Portfolio for such reasons
as forced termination of this
equipment during ARCS Index
generation.
Re-generate Index in Chart
Portfolio. ([Chart] - [ARCS] -
[Regenerate Index])
