Example 2 Shielding Effect for the 1.5 m Triax-Alligator Cable
This example compares the case with connecting the Triax-Alligator cable only
(the left side in the figure) and the case with connecting the Triax-Alligator cable
covered by the shield case that is connected to the chassis (the right side in the
figure). In the comparison, the noise checking was performed 5 times and the
average of the results is calculated in both cases.
The average of Variance Ratio seems to be improved by about 1/100 due to the
shielding effect.
• Executes noise checking 5 times at PLC=1 and
20 pA range
• 1.5 m Triax-Alligator Cable
• Cable end is OPEN (no shielding)
• Results
• Average of Tar get = 7.7E-13
• Average of Variance Ratio = 3625
• Executes noise checking 5 times at PLC=1 and
20 pA range
• 1.5 m Triax-Alligator Cable
• Cable end is OPEN (shielding)
• Results
• Average of Tar get = 4.22E-15
• Average of Variance Ratio = 35.4
