Inspecting the Shipment
Inspecting the Shipment
Perform the following inspections when Keysight B2980 and accessories arrive at
your site.
1. Before unpacking any component, inspect all boxes for any signs of damage
that might have occurred during shipment, such as:
• dents
• scratches
• cuts
• water marks
If you suspect any damage, contact Keysight Technologies.
2. When you open the boxes that contain the B2980 and accessories, check the
components against the contents lists attached to the boxes.
If anything is missing, contact Keysight Technologies.
3. Verify the operation of the B2980 as described in “Checking the Operation of
Keysight B2980.”
If any problem occurs, contact Keysight Technologies.
Checking the Operation of Keysight B2980
1. Make sure that the standby switch is set to off.
2. Connect the power cord from the B2980’s rear panel AC input connector
(receptacle) to an AC power outlet at your site.
3. Press the standby switch to turn on the instrument.
The initialization screen will appear on the B2980’s front panel display, and the
power-on self-test is automatically executed.
If the B2980 is operating normally, the front panel LCD displays the image as
shown in Figure 2-1.
